How do I know when to replace the tires on my Volkswagen Golf?

I have a Volkswagen Golf and I'm not sure how often I should replace the tires. How do I know when it's time for new ones? Any advice is appreciated.

It's recommended to replace tires every 6 years or 60,000 miles, whichever comes first. However, if you notice significant wear or damage before then, it's best to replace them sooner.

Pay attention to your tires' tread depth - if it's less than 4/32 inches, it's time for new tires. You can also try the penny test - insert a penny into the tread with Lincoln's head facing down. If you can see all of Lincoln's head, it's time for new tires.

Regularly check for any bulges, cracks, or tears in your tires. This could indicate a need for replacement. Also, if your tires are constantly losing air or frequently need to be refilled, it's a sign they may need to be replaced.
