Is the Volkswagen Golf a reliable choice for a daily driver?

I'm considering purchasing a used Volkswagen Golf as my daily driver. I've heard mixed reviews about its reliability - what has been your experience with this car?

I've had my Volkswagen Golf for over 5 years now and it's been very reliable. I've only had to do routine maintenance on it and it's still running strong.

Unfortunately, I've had a lot of issues with my Volkswagen Golf. It's been in the shop multiple times for various mechanical issues. I wouldn't recommend it for a daily driver.

I've owned 3 different Volkswagen Golfs and have never had any major issues with them. As long as you keep up with regular maintenance, it's a great choice for a daily driver.
