Is the VW Touareg a good car for off-roading?

I'm planning on taking a trip to a remote village and was wondering if the VW Touareg is capable of handling rough terrain and steep inclines. I've heard mixed reviews and wanted some advice from someone who has experience with this car.

I've taken my Touareg on some pretty rough terrain and it performed great. Just make sure to get the 4WD version.

I would not recommend the Touareg for serious off-roading. It's better suited for city driving.
