Should I get a Volkswagen Tiguan or a smaller SUV?

I'm looking for a new SUV and was wondering if I should go for a Volkswagen Tiguan or a smaller SUV. I need a car that will fit my family comfortably, but I also want something that is easy to drive and park. Any advice?
