What is the average lifespan of a Volkswagen Golf?

I am considering buying a used Volkswagen Golf and I am wondering how long I can expect it to last. I plan on using it for mostly city driving, but occasionally taking longer trips. Thank you!

The average lifespan of a Volkswagen Golf is around 10-15 years or 150,000-200,000 miles, depending on how well it is maintained. With mostly city driving, you may see a slightly lower lifespan, but with proper maintenance, it should last you a good amount of time.

I have owned multiple Volkswagen Golfs over the years and have found that they can easily last up to 200,000 miles with regular maintenance and care. City driving may put more strain on the car, but as long as you keep up with maintenance, it should still last you a good while.

I have been a Volkswagen mechanic for over 10 years and have seen Golfs last anywhere from 100,000 to 200,000 miles. It really depends on how well the car is taken care of, as with any vehicle. If you plan on taking longer trips, just make sure to get regular oil changes and check-ups.
