What is the best year for the Volkswagen Passat?

I am considering buying a used Volkswagen Passat, but I am not sure which year would be the most reliable. Can someone with experience recommend a year for me to focus on?

In my experience, the 2016 Passat was the most reliable and had the best features.

I've had a great experience with my 2018 Passat, but I've also heard good things about the 2017 model.

Personally, I would recommend the 2019 Passat. The updates made to that year's model really impressed me.
