I personally own a 2016 Volkswagen Passat and it has been a reliable car so far. I would recommend looking for a used one from 2015-2017.

I've had a 2013 Volkswagen Passat for 2 years now and it hasn't given me any problems. I would suggest looking for one from 2012-2014.

I work at a dealership and have seen a lot of Passats from around 2012-2013 with high mileage and still running strong. I would say those are good options to consider.
