What is the most reliable year for Volkswagen Passat?

I am planning to buy a used Volkswagen Passat, and I want to know which year is the most reliable. I have heard some people say that the older models are better, while others say the newer ones are more reliable. Can someone give me some advice on which year to choose?

In my experience, the 2012 Volkswagen Passat has been the most reliable year. I have owned mine for 5 years now and have had no major issues.

I have heard that the 2010 Passat was a great year for reliability. My friend has one and has not had any major problems with it.

Personally, I would recommend the 2016 Passat. I have owned mine for 2 years and have had no issues whatsoever. Plus, the newer models have more updated features.
