What are the best tires for off-roading in a Volkswagen Touareg?

I love taking off-road adventures in my Touareg and I'm wondering what tires would be best for this type of driving. I need something that can handle various terrain and provide a smooth ride, but I don't want to sacrifice durability. Any suggestions?
