What is the best model year for the Volkswagen Tiguan?

I am considering buying a used Volkswagen Tiguan and I am wondering what year is the best in terms of reliability and performance. Any advice from owners or experts?

I have a 2017 Volkswagen Tiguan and I have had no major issues with it. It is a great car for daily commuting and longer road trips.
